PORTRAITS

I don't consider myself a portrait painter, so when I was asked to be in a portrait show, I took the opportunity to explore my version of portraits. Playing with shapes, textures, patterns and gestural brushstrokes, my aim was not to focus on the details of representation, but to capture the mood of the moment, inspiring the viewer to recount their own personal memories. So my portraits are not about who, but about the where and when – a moment in time.
